Kara and Mollie's Best Friend Maternity Shoot
I cannot even tell you how excited I am to share these images with you! When I found out that Kara (my beautiful sister in law) and Mollie (her gorgeous best friend) were pregnant and due only a month apart, I *knew* I needed to get them together for maternity photos. They have baby girls who are only a day apart, and now their baby boys will grow up with a best friend their age too! Mollie also has an older son who is the cutest little man.
I wanted this to be a really special experience and shoot, so I got in contact with Daisy Sanchez of Karmyne Beauty to do their hair and makeup. She specializes in braids (seriously- go see her instagram and follow her!) and she did such an amazing job with both girls and their makeup was perfection. Daisy is so sweet and I can't wait to work with her again!!
We went up to Lizard's Mouth Rock in the mountains above Santa Barbara because there was an outcropping that overlooked the mountain, Santa Barbara, and the ocean is even in the background. I loved the massive rocks everywhere and it was such a nice change from the beach. Now, it was hot that weekend. Like, HOT. And everyone was so positive through it all. Kara, Mollie, Garrett, and Chad had no problem hiking up the mountain to get to the location, we were carrying kids, carrying gear, clothes, everything. It was an adventure, y'all. And it was epic. The sky. The SKY!! It was so dramatic and so so blue. Just amazing.
Now, can we talk about how beautiful these two families are? I mean, for real. Gwen, Mara, and Jackson were the cutest little trio. They were perfect little models and looked adorable. Kara and Mollie did a great job coordinating their families' clothes and it really pulled the whole shoot together. Mollie and Kara are just exquisite pregnant women and having them in a frame together is gold. They both rock their pregnant bodies and I'm so appreciative that they were up for my crazy ideas.
I have to give one last shoutout to my main squeeze, Jordan. He was SO helpful the whole day. He went up to the location with us and was carrying my gear, clothes, and kids. He went up and down the mountain a few times to make sure everyone got up, went looking for a lost shoe (and found it!) and went back and forth getting items that anyone needed. He put up with my stress and nerves in the days leading up to the shoot and most importantly, he supported me 100%.
THANK YOU to everyone for your support and efforts in pulling this together. Daisy, Jordan, Kara, Mollie, Garrett, Chad, Gwen, Mara, and Jackson are amazing. I hope you love the photos <3
